Stiletto Corps Agents

Description

I had this idea kicking around in my head for a long time since I was feeling nostalgic for my old gaming group. Here's the primary intel.

The Stiletto Corps is Richemulot's premier espionage organization. They work as Queen Renier's right hand against any security threat, foreign and domestic. The Corps works with the best technology, magic, information and people. While the vampire and lich lord keep their secret agents in-line with undead loyalty, Corps agents stick together through fraternity, patriotism, and secrecy. The fact that many of them are living, non-lycan and otherwise un-cursed individuals means that they can enter situations that inhuman creatures cannot. All heroic classes may apply. Rogues, rangers, monks, bards and wizards are the most common, but that doesn't exclude the other core classes. Agents just have to be the best at what they do. Like the knife the Corps is named for, they must be quick, covert, and deadly in the right hands.

Now that the flavor text is out of the way, back when I ran Ravenloft campaign, the heroes all belonged to the Stiletto Corps. I love espionage stories, and I made the adventures sound like a mix of James Bond, Mission Impossible, Splinter Cell, and anything else with plausible deniability. I never liked game plots that involve, "There's a monster over there attacking people. Go kill it." I let the players know that if they screwed up it could mean war. If they were lucky.

As for the picture itself, the only character that really showed in the stories was the wizard on the right. His name was Sir Arcturus Carnegie, railroad baron. He was a Corps wizard and provided the characters with cover identities as his business partners and bodyguards. If you're wondering why he's wearing a short-sleeve tuxedo, it's because I figured that if he activated fire or electric magic he'd probably burn his sleeves as well. Better safe than sorry. The elf woman is wearing a British ranger uniform from the 16th century, while I made the dwarf's studded leather armor look like a bulletproof vest to show the "modern, high-tech" style of the Corps. Those two are wearing Corps-issue darkvision goggles modeled after Sam Fisher's nightvision goggles, except for Carnegie. The reason is to get that all-important eye-contact and because I wanted to make him look like Guy Pearce. I know it's a long-shot, but in the billion to one chances that this would be made into a movie, I imagined Mr. Pearce playing the part of the aristocrat wizard. I just think he's a cool actor.
