Volus Unmasked

I, and some of the people that saw it, knew I had to make one of the Volus (More people took offense at my comments about the nude pictures of Tali floating around DA. Look, if you think Tali is your ideal woman and she's in your age bracket then more power to you. I'm not insulting you and I apologize if you saw it that way. I'm insulting the people that wanted her to star in Penthouse).
Here are my thoughts on Volus biology. Not surprisingly, I found jack-squat on lifeforms that live in an ammonia based atmosphere. This took a lot of guesswork. Their suits take a lot of wear and tear and they need precious maintenance, so every Volus keeps a small tool kit on his/her belt. This guy is replacing an air filter in his mask. At one point I thought those "moustache sacks" contained gills, but they look too floppy and unconnected to the rest of the suit to contain something so valuable. I imagine they contain filters and recirculators that clean the air before it goes up the central white stripe to the 4 nostrils up there.

As a side note, I hope that ME2 has a Volus crew member onboard the Normandy. I doubt this will happen, but it'd be cool to see him/her in combat (speciality: knee-capping).
